If you passed your test before 1st Jan 1997, you can tow a trailer until your licence expires. So long as the combined vehicle and trailer weight does not exceed 8.25 tonnes, you do not need to pass any additional test. Note that you can also drive a minibus with a trailer exceeding 750kgs.

If you passed your test on or after 1st Jan 1997, you will need to pass an additional driving test to be allowed to tow a trailer exceeding 750kgs. Our courses are designed to obtain you your “B+E” entitlement to allow you to do just this.
